The Arch of Triumph Gala was established to attract alumni and friends of Johnson C. Smith University to a formal and celebratory fundraising event and to enhance the University’s annual Founders Day celebration.

JCSU alumni, Charlotte residents and local corporations, as well as members of the philanthropic community attended the first Arch of Triumph Gala held on April 18, 2009 at the Westin Charlotte.

The initial event attracted over 690 guests and grossed over $128,000 to benefit the JCSU Fund, which raises needed funds for scholarships, teaching, learning initiatives and programs vital to providing a quality educational experience to JCSU students.  Since its inception, the annual gala has raised over $2.4 million.
